        • Wine Advocate: A wine with saltiness, very tasty and with notes of white flowers and ripe fruit, which has already been blessed by Luis Gutiérrez.

        Producer Information

Jorge and Jesús Navascues are the talented Aragonese winemakers and oenologists behind artisanal winery Mas de Mancuso. The Mas de Mancuso winery was born in 2002 by the Navascués family and Carlos San Pedro , winemaker at Bodegas y Viñedos Pujanza . After several years dedicated to making wine for others, Jesús Navascués and his son Jorge, winemakers with long experience advising more than 15 Spanish wineries, fulfill their dream of making their own wines by redefining this project. These two Aragonese have deep winemaking roots: on their father's side, they are the third generation of winemakers in Campo de Borja and they are the fourth generation on their mother's side of a DO Utiel-Requena winemaking family .This project started when they recovered an old underground cellar from the year 1800 that we found in Almonacid de la Sierra . The first wines from the Mas de Mancuso winery are made with grapes purchased from a local winegrower with whom they have collaborated for years. Little by little, they are acquiring and recovering vineyards in the area. These vineyards are located at the foot of the Sierra de Algairén , at more than 700 meters above sea level, on stony clay and slate soils. Most are old vines with an average age of about 60 years, especially Garnachas.
