The folks at Darkness got their hands on a batch of tremendously well-aged Islay single malt here, matured for an impressive 32 years! The whisky finished its maturation in a custom-made, teeny little oloroso sherry octave cask.

Darkness Islay 32 Year Old Oloroso Cask Finish Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 500ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Beach barbecue, grilled shellfish, salty sea breeze and briny peat smoke, with burnt ends, sweet, smoky barbecue sauce, and a touch of savoury spice.

Palate: Meaty chewy sweet peat, salted tablet and tarry smoke are joined by rich dark chocolate and a touch of billtong.

Finish: Sweet smoke lingers, with thick toffee and briny salinity.
