It is now produced in Mexico, and all over the world. The drink is typically served straight up in a shot glass, with some lemon juice, or as a part of a cocktail. El Zacatecano Anejo Mezcal is a premium mezcal that is aged in oak barrels for a minimum of one year. The anejo means it is an un-aged mezcal, which is often sweeter and smoother than a reposado.
