Detailed Description
On the nose, fragrant autumnal spice aromas intertwine with sweet, dried fruit and demerara sugar. To taste, notes of stewed red fruit flavours lead to Seville orange with a hint of garden mint followed by tart raspberry, cocoa powder accompanied by mature oak. A full finish on the palate with lingering cinnamon and forest fruits. Distilled on 15th October 1959 and spending its entire maturation in cask no. 3665, a first fill Sherry butt, this Third Edition of the Mr George Legacy Series was bottled on 2nd November 2022 at a remarkable cask strength of 56.5% ABV. This whisky is from Gordon & MacPhail’s last cask – from any distillery – from 1959.
