Karuizawa Gloria Ocean Special Grade Whisky

Karuizawa is the gold standard for rare Japanese whisky. The distillery closed its doors in 2011, although it had not been producing whisky for over a decade. This Gloria Ocean Whisky is filled with blended and special grade whisky. It is a rare final release whisky that was bottled before 1985. Presented with an original box.

Nose: Full-bodied, smooth. A mellow peat softly coats the aromatic palette at first, growing more powerful with time.

Palate: Firm, powerful. A well-balanced attack gives equal footing to aromas of peat, smoke, spices.

Finish: Long and silky finish.

Distillery Information

Karuizawa distillery was a Japanese whisky distillery. It was located at Miyota, a town on the southern slopes of an active complex volcano, Mount Asama, in Kitasaku District, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. Established in 1955, the distillery began production in 1956.
