Les Tosses is based on blue and dark fruits with a fine spice. Depending on the sensory disposition, blueberries, cassis, blackberries and sweet cherries can be felt here. Ethereal nuances of Mediterranean herbs, but above all eucalyptus and mint, underline the dark fruit with cool and invigorating accents. The stony, cold characteristics of the slate soil are also clearly noticeable. Floral aromas of violets and pansies give it an extra portion of shine and glory. On the palate, he manages the balancing act to bundle all these dark notes into pure elegance. Pure minerality reigns in the mouth. This makes it look silky and playful.

• Wine Advocate: This is floral, aromatic and elegant, fresh and elegant but also quite serious. It's nicely textured with the grainy mouthfeel from the slate soils, very tasty, clean and precise, and it finishes very long and dry.

• James Suckling: Dark berry, flint and slate aromas with some gunpowder. It’s medium-bodied with firm, linear tannins that are fine-textured, long and energetic. Minerals and dark fruit on the palate. Blood orange, too.

Producer Information

Terroir Al Limit is a Spanish winery in the Priorat region of Catalunya, also making wine from the adjacent Montsant DO. It is known for pure, mineral-rich wines which are not over-extracted or reliant on oak. The red grapes Grenache (known as Garnaxta in Catalonia) and Carignan (Carinyena) are the main focus here. White wines are made in smaller volumes from varieties including Grenache Blanc, Pedro Ximénez and Macabeo (Viura). The business was established in 2001 by German Dominik Huber and South African winemaker Eben Sadie. Huber remains at the helm, while Sadie left in 2012 to focus on his South African projects. It debuted with the first Dits del Terra cuvée, made from purchased fruit. A small wine cellar was bought in 2003; production rose in the following years with various cuvées added to the portfolio. In 2019, the 2016 vintage of Priorat Les Manyes received 100 points from The Wine Advocate.
