      Detailed Description

Raspberries, red currant and strawberry conserve dominate the nose with underlying tones of tobacco and forest floor. Hints of cola, summer jasmine, honeysuckle, and rose petals further the intrigue. The palate presents a striking brightness and purity, coupled with a generous mouthfeel that delivers flavors of fresh cherries, garden herbs, and sweet baking spice.

      Reviews:

      • Wine Enthusiast: This is a floral wine that is bursting in fresh strawberry and tangy acidity. Forest floor, rose petal and a hint of stem lie beneath a supple texture, with finishing notes of cola and cinnamon.
      • James Suckling: Aromas of wild cherry, plum, crushed stone and ocean breeze. Medium-bodied with integrated tannins. An array of red fruit and fresh, colored flowers fills the palate. Very flavorful and satisfying. Bright acidity and a mineral edge keep the palate driven and dynamic. Lingering finish.

      Producer Information

Gary Farrell Vineyards and Winery is a producer of predominantly Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines operating out of a winery located in the central Russian River Valley. The winery produces wines from a range of sites, mostly within the AVA, but it has also sourced fruit from the Sonoma and Santa Barbara Counties. The label was started by Gary Farrell in 1982, just prior to the creation of the Russian River Valley AVA in 1983, producing 100 cases of Rochioli Vineyard Pinot Noir. The winery remains focussed on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay although other bottlings crop up in the portfolio, including the likes of Grist Vineyard Zinfandel from Dry Creek Valley and the Rochioli Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc.
