      Straw yellow in colour, the nose is decidedly intense and aromatic, notes of sage, jasmine, lavender, fresh hints of apple and cedar. On the palate the wine is intense and medium-bodied, has a nice acidity and flavor and an excellent aromatic persistence.

        Cantine Pellegrino (or Carlo Pellegrino & C.) is a family-owned company in the town of Marsala. Notary, Paolo Pellegrino, already a passionate wine grower, founded the winery in 1880. The company has now been at the forefront of the Sicilian wine industry for seven generations. The business operates in the Trapani province in western Sicily, producing a range of still and sparkling table wines as well as the region's famous fortified wine Marsala. Pellegrino also make sweet wines from the Zibibbo (Muscat of Alexandria) variety and on the nearby island of Pantelleria. The company cultivate four estates in Sicily, both around the town of Marsala and in the nearby Mazara del Valo area. Each vineyard has its own varying unique characteristics. All are run using organic farming methods in full respect of the environment. Pellegrino is a leading producer of the historic Marsala Wine and has been responsible for marketing it all over the world. The business produce numerous different styles of Marsala – Oro, Ambra, Rubino, Garibaldi, S.O.M., and the two classics Vergine and Soleras. All age over many years in the cellars in a collection of over a thousand oak barrels and casks.
