Bunnahabhain 10 Year Old 2012 (cask 900779) - Cask Strength Collection (Signatory) | 700ML

A cracking addition to the Cask Strength Collection from indie bottler Signatory. This single malt was distilled at Bunnahabhain in 2012 and spent ten years resting in a single first-fill sherry butt, until it was bottled in June 2022. A total of 604 bottles were released at a hearty 65.8% ABV – a splash of water might be a good idea to open up all the depth in this one.

Nose: Peanut brittle opens things up, with earthy barley and raisin pastries.

Palate: Oily citrus, chocolate almonds, some festive spice builds, with roasted coffee and smoked herbs.

Finish: Liquorice lingers on the finish, with chewy notes of clove balanced by sweeter baking spice.

Distillery Information

Bunnahabhain is a distillery situated on the north coast of Islay. The distillery was founded in 1881, and today it produces a variety of whisky styles. Bunnahabhain is best known for its unpeated whiskies, which are light and fruity in style. The distillery also produces peated whiskies, which are more robust and smoky in character. Regardless of style, all of Bunnahabhain's whiskies are renowned for their smoothness and balance.
