From the Driftless Glen Distillery, this straight bourbon spent five years resting in a single barrel. Bottled up at a cask strength of 62% ABV, it's an impressive expression from the relatively young Wisconsin distillery.

Driftless Glen 5 Year Old Single Barrel Bourbon Tasting Notes

Nose: Toasted oak and dustings of clove, with softer notes of vanilla and butterscotch.

Palate: The vanilla continues on the palate alongside poached pear and apple pastries. Sweet oak and barbecued corn build beside prickles of pepper and cinnamon.

Finish: A well-balanced end with warming spice and toasty sweetness lingering.

So when they searched the country for a terroir harboring the grain and water necessary to make a matchless expression of bourbon and rye, they couldn’t ignore the Driftless Area in Wisconsin Using local Midwest grain and water from the Driftless Region, they produce and barrel bourbon or rye daily, and they are always happy to demonstrate how important superior distillation is to them.
