Pura Vida Extra Añejo Tequila is aged in high quality, second generation Cognac barrels for at least three years. This extra aging process allows the tequila to darken and mature resulting in a smooth and complex spirit.

Pura Vida Extra Añejo Tequila Tasting Notes

Nose: On the nose there are rich aromas of cola nut, vanilla, pineapple, ginger and pepper.

Palate: The taste is dry, yet fruity; a medium to full body with undertones of guava, lychee, spicy oak and subtle grassy herbs.

Finish: The finish is long, smooth, spicy and richly layered.

Distillery Information

At the intersection of craft and beverage, the story of Pura Vida Tequila dates back to 1923, when two brothers worked the agave fields outside Arandas in the heart of Mexico’s finest agave-producing region. Under the care of these vigilant agaveros, the fields of beautiful blue agave in Los Altos earned international acclaim for its exceptional quality, rich flavor, and high sugar content (the lifeblood of tequila). Here, among fourth-generation agaveros, the first expression of Pura Vida Tequila was brewing
