        Producer Information

Domaine Gros Frère et Soeur is a Burgundy wine producer based in Vosne-Romanée. It makes a range of Pinot Noir-based wines from some of the region's top vineyards, including the grands crus Richebourg, Échezeaux, Grands Échezeaux and Clos de Vougeot. The domaine also makes white and red Hautes Côtes de Nuits wines, and wines from other vineyards in Vosne-Romanée. Gros Frère et Soeur has its origins in the 1963 division of the Louis Gros estate. This was divided between his four children, and Gustave and Colette Gros combined their shares to form Gros Frère et Soeur. It is currently run by Colette's nephew Bernard Gros. The estate is known for its high use of new oak (in some cases, the grand cru wines get as much as 100 percent new oak). However, the grand cru holdings around Vosne-Romanée are not vast, with just under 0.7 hectares (1.7 acres) in Richebourg, 0.3 hectares (0.7 acres) in Grands Échezeaux and 0.9 hectares (2.2 acres) in Échezeaux. The domaine has more vineyard holdings around Vosne (including in the Premier Cru Les Chaumes) and in the Hautes Côtes de Nuits. It also boasts a 1.5 hectare (3.7 acre) parcel in the Clos de Vougeot, in the northwestern corner between Château du Clos de Vougeot and the walls of the clos below the Musigny vineyard (hence the subtitle "Musigni" – the plot is also known as "En Musigni"). Other notable Burgundy estates bearing the Gros name include Anne Gros, Michel Gros and A.F. Gros.
