Producer Information

Tor Wines – or Tor Kenward Family Wines, to give it its full name – is a Californian producer based in St Helena. It is best known for its sought-after Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon red wines and Chardonnay white wines, sourced from stellar vineyards. The company was founded in 2001 by Tor and Susan Kenward after Tor retired from a 26-year career with Beringer Vineyards. He was able to draw on his extensive knowledge of the best vineyard plots in the Napa Valley, as well as long-standing personal relationships with their owners. The core of the portfolio is a handful of single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon wines from some of Napa Valley's best growers. These cover subregions including Howell Mountain and Oakville, as well as St Helena. In the legendary Beckstoffer To-Kalon vineyard in Oakville, as well as six blocks of its principal variety, Tor works with a couple of blocks of Cabernet Franc. Vine Hill Ranch Vineyard provides an acre of Petit Verdot alongside two of Cabernet Sauvignon.
