Immediately after pouring into the large glass, a scent of chocolate and a lot of spices such as cinnamon and cloves fills the air. Then there are plums, blackberries, eucalyptus, mint and a hint of pepper. With the first sip you notice the strong tannins - the wine needs air and can also continue to mature for many years. A cigar box flavor joins the other flavors and lingers in the mouth forever.

Producer Information

Jean-Luc Thunevin makes the wine with his wife Murielle Andraud on what is now Chateau Valandraud (yes, this is where his first wine of the same name comes from). He started there as a career changer and lateral thinker in 1991 in a garage, often referred to as the black sheep by wine critics.
After just one year, he had his breakthrough with his Chateau Valandraud. The garage was extended to the chateau.
The "small" wines are still produced there and show an incredible quality.
