First made in 2001, the 2015 Rothwell Hyde is a complex blend from all four of the estate vineyards. It's unquestionably more forward and approachable than the single vineyards yet plays in the powerful, serious, incredibly impressive style of this estate. Blockbuster notes of blue fruits, barbecue smoke, camphor, and violets all flow to a full-bodied, thrillingly pure, flamboyant 2015 that has sweet tannins, no hard edges, and remarkable purity of fruit.

• Vinous: The 2015 Rothwell Hyde is a gorgeous, supple wine that is ready to deliver tons of immediate pleasure. In some recent vintages, 2013 and 2014 come to mind, Rothwell Hyde has been hard to enjoy young, but that is not at all the case with the 2015. Plush and inviting, with plenty of generous dark blue/purplish fruit, the 2015 has so much to offer. I absolutely loved the 2015 for its sensual, inviting personality.

David Abreu is a third generation native of the Napa Valley. David grew up in Rutherford, California in a family with farming interests. Starting at an early age, David worked during the summers at Inglenook and Caymus vineyard. As time passed, his interests focused on viticulture and ultimately he began to farm and manage several properties on his own. In 1980 he founded David Abreu Vineyard Management, Inc. That same year he developed the Madrona Ranch vineyard. David produced his first wine in 1986 from the Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc at Madrona Ranch. His first commercial release was with the 1987 Abreu Madrona Ranch..
