Sokol Blosser 2017 Big Tree Block Estate Pinot Noir has a light and floral nose. This wine has a complex mouthfeel and soft tannins with pop of pink peppercorn.

• Wine & Spirits: Lean and high toned, with scents of clove and violets, this delivers generous cherry flavor on a razor’s edge of acidity. The tension would cut against weighty dishes, like roast lamb.

• James Suckling: A very impressive wine for the striking sense of spice, white-pepper and briary, forest notes, across red cherries. The palate has sapid, focused style with such taut yet silky tannins holding long and true. Pure red cherries here. Drink or hold.

Now with the second generation of Sokol Blossers at the helm, the winery is poised to enter a new millennium of winemaking and sustainability under the guidance of CEO and Co-President Alison Sokol Blosser, along with winemaker and Co-President Alex Sokol Blosser. As the new generation continues the legacy of Sokol Blosser’s founders, the focus remains on crafting exemplary wines through sustainable methods. It’s no mere coincidence that such practices have had the happy consequence of enhancing the excellence of Sokol Blosser’s Pinot Noir.
