The 2018 Bartolo Mascarello is the epitome of elegance. Capturing the enticing fragrance and silky tannins that the vintage is known for, it opens with heady aromas of violet, rose petal, blood orange and baking spice while the delicious palate openly reveals juicy red cherry, star anise, cinnamon and eucalyptus notes alongside smooth tannins. A saline mineral note lingers on the close. It has a weightless finesse and great balance and despite being full-bodied, it dances on the palate.

Bartolo Mascarello is a legendary name of Barolo and Langhe, a small producer who made the history of the appellation and of Piedmontese wine. Today the winery is run by Bartolo's daughter, Maria Teresa Mascarello, who carries on an artisanal production among which stands out, like a diamond, a single label of Barolo which, according to tradition, combines several crus in a single bottle.
