      Detailed Description

The ocean breezes mean that Fleurieu peninsula is one of the cooler parts of South Australia, making it the perfect place to grow Cabernet Sauvignon, a grape that loves a sea breeze. The name is a bit of a giveaway, because this wine majors on blackberry fruit alongside leather and cigar box notes. This would be a great Sunday lunch wine, especially if you're having roast beef. Classic warm climate Cabernet nose of blackcurrants and bramble. Ripe full palate balanced by some fresh acidity, fine tannins and some aromatic tobacco notes.

      Reviews:

      • Michael Godel: Blackberry patch indeed with the tart yet so very ripe fruit and waves of Cassis filling up the aromatic glass. Classically Fleurieu in this regard, deeply fruity, punchy and grippy, more by acidity than tannin. A very fresh South Australian cabernet sauvignon with plenty of food matching upside. A rib roast cooked to just a shade past 46 degrees internal temperature, rested for 46 minutes and then all falling into pairing place.
      • Sara D'Amato: Both zesty and jammy, this exuberant cabernet is clean, regionally representative and full bodied but takes a step away from heavy oak treatment. Well poised despite its level of alcohol with well integrated flavours. Sophisticated and widely appealing. Good value

      Producer Information

Zonte’s Footstep is a proudly independent Australian wine producer established in 2003. We take our vineyards and our wine, but not ourselves, too seriously. Our grapes are sourced from our own, as well as our mates’ vineyards, from regions that produce the desired expressive, varietal characteristics of the grapes grounded by the soil they are planted in. Located in the McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek, Adelaide Hills, the Barossa and further afield. Hence the simple, but diligent pursuit of producing wines that reflect a sense of place, style and purpose. We have always aimed to bottle wines with personality and expression… that’s why we gave them names and a face of their own!
