Producer Information

Cusumano is a Sicilan family-owned wine producer, known for its collection of varietal wines from the Nero d'Avola grape variety in particular. The are two flagship wines of the Cusumano portfolio; Sàgana, made solely from Nero d'Avola, and Noa, which is a blend of Nero d'Avola with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. This duo of been produced by Cusumano since the inception of the brand in the early 2000s. In addition to these two wines, Cusumano makes a range of 'cru' wines from grape varieties such as Pinot Nero, Chardonnay and Moscato. There is also a more value-led range made up of varietal wines from Nero d'Avola, Merlot, Syrah, and Insolia. Most wines are classified as Sicilia IGT, or Terre Siciliane IGT. Over 500 hectares (1235 acres) of vineyards are farmed by the company, spread across seven sites in four different regions. This creates a wide range of mesoclimates and soil types to work with, in order to optimise the growing conditions for each variety and achieve complexity in multi-site blends.
