St. Clair Family Estate was founded in 1978 by spouses Neil and Judy Ibbotson. The debut was extremely successful - their wines have won many awards, among which were Gold medals. Since then, the name Saint Clair has stood for excellent quality, and the products have consistently won the highest awards at international competitions, including the prestigious Air New Zealand Wine Awards.
