      Detailed Description

It presents itself with great elegance and charm with precise aromas, imposing but very fine tannins and great length.

        Producer Information

Domaine Henri Magnien is wine producer based in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin in the Côte de Nuits subregion of Burgundy's Côte d'Or heartland. The winery produces a range of wines, predominantly from Pinot Noir, from vineyards across Gevrey. Established in 1987, the domaine covers around six hectares (15 acres) of vineyard plots in some of the best vineyards of Gevrey, including the Grand Cru Ruchottes-Chambertin and the highly regarded Lavaut Saint-Jacques, Les Cazetiers and Champeaux premiers crus. A number of village-level labels from Gevrey are also produced. The domaine also has holdings further south, in Aloxe-Corton, in the Côte de Beaune, and produces a premier cru (La Coutiere) and the Corton Les Grandes Lolieres Grand Cru, both from Pinot Noir. The domaine, which has been run by Charles Magnien since 2009, also gives its name to a particular clone of Pinot Noir, dubbed Pinot Magnien. This estate should not be confused with Domaine Stéphane Magnien and Domaine Michel Magnien & Frédéric Magnien, both in Morey-Saint-Denis.
