        Producer Information

        Weingut Angerhof Tschida is a sweet-wine producer of the Burgenland region on the eastern border of Austria. The family-owned estate has been cultivating vines since 1982. Tschida cultivates a total of 40 hectares (98 acres) of vineyards in Neusiedlersee, a majority of which are planted to the Riesling, Muscat Blanc a Petits Grains and Scheurebe white grape varieties. Here, a plots are found planted on pockets of sandy, light gravel, mineral salty soils and dark black earth soil types. The proximity to Lake Neusiedl provides the humidity required for the formation of noble Botrytis. In the winery, sweet wine fermentations are kept at very low temperatures to extend the ferment period, sometimes for over a year or two. The range of table wines are fermented in a combination of both oak barrels and stainless steel tanks. Around 70-percent of the portfolio falls within the Prädikatswein classification of which includes Eiswein, Spätlese and Auslese. Stylistically speaking, the collection focuses on varietal exprerssion.
