This single cask expression was distilled in 2009 at Ardmore distillery in the Scottish Highlands. Bottled by renowned indie bottler Hunter Laing & Co., this expression was matured in a single refill hogshead for almost a decade. Just 241 bottles have been produced at a preferred strength of 46% abv. As with all the releases in the First Editions series, this single malt is free from chill filtration and artificial colouring.

Nose: The nose has sweet toffee in a peppery smoke.

Palate: The palate brings powerful peat and iodine with a touch of vanilla sweetness.

Finish: A long and lingering finish with peat and oak notes.

Distillery Information

Ardmore distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery. The Ardmore distillery sits at the highest point of the Northern railway line, 600 feet above sea level. Close to the small village of Kennethmont, the proximity to the railway line allowed founder Adam Teacher to transport materials from Glasgow to this remote corner of Aberdeenshire, helping the distillery flourish.
