It's a bottle of a 17-years-old spirit. When was this excellent liquid gold distillate? In 1998. The distillate was bottled in 2015. This whisky has an ABV of 43 %. The whisky is presented in a 700 ml bottle. Signatory Vintage Scotch is a bottler that doesn't rush the production of whisky as they painstakingly produce one cask at a time. This is a rare rum from Lowland as this region mainly produces whisky.

Nose Soft vanilla, bubblegum, subtle spiciness of rye.

Palate White chocolate Lion bars (these are rare, but excellent - search them out), a touch of lemon zest.

Finish Oodles of caramel and black pepper on the finish.

Distillery Information

In 1963, William Grant and Sons built the Girvan Distillery as a staple source of grain whisky for blending purposes. The distillery is sited within an unused munitions factory from World War Two, sited in the Lowlands. Girvan has an impressive production capacity of fifteen million litres annually. The Ladyburn distillery was built within the Girvan complex in 1966, though it shut in 1975. Aside from producing a blending component, Girvan also releases single grain whiskies, many of which have received wide acclaim. In 1995, the single grain Black Barrel was released in France, Spain and Portugal.
