Carpathian creates Romanian single malt that is distilled, matured and bottled at the Alexandrion Saber 1789 Distillery, near the Carpathian Mountains. It is made using 100% Romanian malted barley and sub-Carpathian water under the stewardship of master distiller Allan Anderson, who boasts more than 30 years’ experience in Scotch whisky and Irish whiskey distillation.

Nose: Honey sweet with notes of gingerbread, cinnamon and a hint of spicy oak.

Palate: Full, round, sweet with a final hint of spice.

Finish: Long, lingering and intense.

The launch of a single malt whisky matured in Romanian wine casks is a world premiere. Romania has more than 2,000 years of history of in wine production and is one of the biggest wine producers in the world. Alexandrion Group, through Alexandrion Rhein 1892 Domains, its wine division, produces some of the best, internationally awarded wines in Romania.
