Copperworks Release 001 American Single Malt Whiskey

The combination of Parker and Nutt could not have brewed (pun slightly intended) a more perfect storm for the vision of Pacific Northwest craft distillation. Parker, who holds degrees in microbiology and chemistry, claims the titles of first head brewer of Pike Brewing, brewer at both Fish Brewing and Redhook, and Brewmaster at Pyramid Breweries. Nutt, on the flip side of the coin, originally trained as a software engineer but held a strong passion for home brewing in conjunction with a 20+ year friendship with Parker. Their forces combined, the duo barreled their first whiskey in 2014 using a wash of 100% pale malted barely produced at Elysian Brewing.

Copperworks American Single Malt Whiskey Tasting Notes

Nose: Smoky aromas of sea salt, olive oil, flamed orange peel, douglas fir, singed quassia, leather, and raisins in honey.

Palate: A round, vibrant, dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body and a peppery, interesting, medium-long dried mint.

Finish: Lavender, rosemary, thyme, green peppercorn, and eucalyptus finish.

Copperworks Distilling Company is a craft distillery, tasting room, and gift shop located on Seattle’s downtown waterfront. Using an unusual combination of traditional methods and innovative approaches, they produce American Single Malt Whiskey, a series of gins, and a vodka, all made from malted barley.
