Purple Brands is a wines and spirits business based in Petaluma, California. It has winery and distillery operations in the Russian River Valley, Sonoma County and Napa Valley. All are Certified Sustainable by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance. The business was founded in 2001 by Derek Benham as Purple Wine Company. Early brands which established the company included Avalon Cabernet Sauvignon and Mark West. The latter was in time sold to Constellation.
