Kilchoman 11 Year Old 2012 Founders Cask Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML

Sadly this bottle is the culmination of the Founders Cask series from Islay distillery Kilchoman, but what a way to sign off! The fifth and final edition was hand-selected by Peter Wills, founder Anthony Wills' youngest, and the family business model has produced an expression that was initially matured for over nine years in two distinct bourbon barrels and then finished in a 400-litre calvados cask for an additional two years.

Nose: Very elegant and precise aromas.

Palate: On the palate it is very elegant, rich and full-bodied.

Finish: The finish is quite unique, rich and long lasting.

Distillery Information

The distillery began production in December 2005, and was the first to be built on Islay since 1908. The distillery uses barley grown on site at Rockside Farm and malted at the distillery, as well as malt from the Port Ellen maltings and releases separate bottlings depending on the source of the grain.
