Detailed Description

This 12-year-old expression from the core range of Loch Lomond Distillery is aged in three types of cask: bourbon, refill and re-charred. Marrying together creates a perfectly balanced Highland Single Malt with a deep fruity character complete with the distillery's characteristic hints of peat and smoke. Presented in ahandsome gift pack, this expression comes with 5cl bottles of Loch Lomond's other 12-year-old expressions: Inchmurrin from the Island Collection and the peated Inchmoan.

Loch Lomond 12 Year Old Gift Pack Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: The nose offers crisp green apple, ripe pear and refreshing citrus lemon with notes of golden cereal lurking underneath.

Palate: The palate is deeply fruity with lemon meringue, pear and orchard fruits leading to citrus lemon, vanilla and light biscuit.

Finish: The finish is medium with gentle wood smoke and a lingering peaty tang.

Distillery Information

Loch Lomond Distillery was commissioned by the Littlemill Distilling Company in 1964 with first distillation in 1966. In 1984, the distillery closed - or fell silent, to use the traditional term. Happily though, Alexander Bulloch and the Glen Catrine company acquired the business and resumed malt production in 1987. Grain whisky production began in 1993 and two new malt stills were added in 1999.
