      Detailed Description

        Reviews:

        • Wine Advocate: Giraud's 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape—a mainly tank-aged blend of 80% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre—is full-bodied and plush, a velvety-textured whirl of black cherries, blackberries and raspberries that finishes long, with touches of white pepper and alcoholic warmth. At the domaine's 35-euro price, it's a solid value that should drink well for more than a decade. Tasted twice (once blind), with consistent notes.
        • Wine Spectator: A charming wine, featuring an open and inviting core of dark cherry, plum and raspberry compote flavors infused with sandalwood and black tea, with a flurry of licorice and sweet spice on the fleshy finish. Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre.

        Producer Information

The estate was born from the passion of Pierre and Mireille, from the meeting of two families. Pierre Giraud is the son of a line of winegrowers over 6 centuries old. A descendant of the Armenier family, he has always worked his vineyard with passion. The Buou family had owned the village distillery for several generations, Mireille has always worked in unison with her husband for the development of the vineyard. Today, she is in charge of all the administration of the estate. The story begins in 1974 when Pierre and Mireille started to cultivate 4 hectares of vines as sharecropping.Over a period of 12 years, the estate gradually expanded with the acquisition of land for rent and sharecropping. In 1981, Pierre and Mireille transformed the family distillery into a wine cellar for the vinification and maturing of the wines. The same year they gave birth to their first vintage at the estate.
