These early 1980s vintages from Glenfarclas are always a pleasure to sample, offering concentrated notes of apple and pear with a distinct minerality and subtle spices. This particular bottling from a single refill hogshead is a perfect example of the style with added notes of lemon oil, nutmeg and ginger. A beautifully old-fashioned dram and a great entry in the peerless Family Cask series.

Nose: Rich aromas of dark dried fruits, polished oak, and Demerara sugar, balanced with subtle spice and leather.
Palate: Full-bodied and layered, offering notes of sherried raisins, roasted nuts, cocoa, and warming spice. Hints of tobacco and orange peel emerge, adding complexity.
Finish: Long and elegant, with lingering sherry sweetness, oak tannins, and a touch of espresso bitterness.
