Mount Gay Coffey Still Expression The Master Blender Collection Rum | 700ML

This is the seventh installment in The Master Blender Collection from Mount Gay and it pays tribute to its late distiller Reynold Hinds, better known as Blues. Mount Gay owns one of the first types of column stills to be invented, a rare 100% copper Coffey Still which lay in a state of disrepair for decades until it was recommissioned in 2019.

Nose: At first sight, the rum has golden hues. As it opens, the nose is full of pear, vanilla, nutmeg and light leather aromas.

Palate: The palate brings grapefruit, oak, honey and lightly spiced notes of cinnamon with layers of aromas that open up with every sip.

Finish: Lingering finish that leaves a lasting impression.

Distillery Information

Mount Gay and our historic landscape was originally owned by John Sober - who inherited a small distillery at the top of Mount Gilboa in the St. Lucy parish of Barbados, far back in 1703. Eventually, the Sober family hired Sir John Gay Alleyne - a fourth generation Barbadian - to usher in a new era for the distillery.
