It was made available only for Springbank Society members, so unless you were in this club it was very unlikely that you’d get your hands on one. It was aged in a combination of Sherry Hogsheads, Sherry Butts, Bourbon Barrels and Rum Barrels which makes for an exceptionally complex dram

Springbank 2021 Society Bottling 28 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: Lots of fruit with dark fruits like blackberries and ripe strawberries. In addition, light smoke and fine oak.

Palate: Full-bodied and complex on the tongue. The notes of sherry and port come through well. In addition, the impression of jam with a light grapefruit note. Oak again.

Finish: Long-lasting and intense. Some smoke and earthy notes complete the overall picture.

Distillery Information

The Springbank distillery is a family-owned single malt whisky distillery on the Kintyre Peninsula in western Scotland. It is owned by J & A Mitchell & Company, who also owns the Glengyle Distillery, the oldest independent bottler, William Cadenheads, and several blended scotch labels.
