Nose: Dried cherries, mulled wine spice, vanilla, orange peel, cinnamon, and toasted oak with hints of cocoa.

Palate: Smooth and full with rye spice, blackberry compote, caramel, plum, baking spice, and port-driven fruit sweetness layered over gentle oak tannin.

Finish: Long and warming with lingering dried fruit, peppery rye spice, soft cocoa, and sweet oak.

Distillery Information

High West, based in Park City, Utah, was the first legally licensed distillery in the state in modern times and became widely known for its innovative blending approach. Rather than relying solely on in-house distillation, the brand built its reputation on carefully sourcing and blending rye whiskeys, then enhancing them through secondary barrel finishing. A Midwinter Night’s Dram originated as a limited seasonal variation of Rendezvous Rye, finished in port barrels to create a richer, dessert-like winter expression. Each annual “Act” varies slightly in blend composition and finishing influence, making every release subtly unique while maintaining the series’ signature balance of spice and sweetness.
