Karibia-Rhum Artist Batch #2 by Renee Hardial 5 Year Old Rum | 500ML

A limited Caribbean blend bringing together a 5-year-old Guadeloupe agricole rum and Vieux Sajous from Haiti. The Guadeloupe component is made from fresh red-cane juice and aged in new French oak from the Allier forest, while the Haitian component is a Vieux Sajous 2017 aged in an ex-Caroni cask. Bottled unfiltered at 48.9%, the blend balances rounded oak and fruit with the fresher, more vegetal character of Haitian clairin. Only 326 bottles were produced.

Nose: Vanilla, yellow fruit, light honey, fresh herbs, lively cane, and a subtle resinous character.

Palate: Round and rich with gentle spice, elegant oak tannins, ripe fruit, raw cane, and a drier vegetal freshness.

Finish: Long and precise, with noble oak, warm spices, candied fruit, a touch of salinity, and a subtle smoky-anise character.

Distillery Information

Karibia-Rhum is an independent Caribbean rum bottler focused on limited, terroir-driven expressions and distinctive blends. For Artist Batch #2, the Guadeloupe rum comes from Distillerie Espérance on the Marquisat de Sainte-Marie estate, while the Haitian Vieux Sajous is associated with Chelo and tropical maturation in an ex-Caroni cask. The release was created in collaboration with Guadeloupean contemporary artist Renée Hardial, whose artwork “Zaka” provides the bottle's distinctive presentation.
