Our/New York Basil Vodka

We start out with fresh, non-GMO basil from Brooklyn-based urban farm Square Roots being delivered to Our/Distillery in Manhattan. Our team de-stems and hand-chops the basil, and allows it to infuse for more than 24 hours in a mixture of our base spirit and New York water. The infused liquid is filtered to remove the solid basil particles, then carefully distilled using our small-batch copper still. This is the part of the process that reveals the underlying complexity of the herb, allowing the normally subtle underlying flavors to come through. The final stage of the process is mixing rich and flavorful basil distillate once more with our base spirit and our famous New York water from the Catskills. As always, every batch is bottle by hand in Chelsea.

Our New York Vodka Tasting Notes

Nose: Clear aroma with abundant basil notes throughout.

Palate: This vodka is distinctively smooth, with fresh and pure notes of subtle grain and basil.

Finish: The finish is smooth, subtle, and inviting.

Our/New York is a vodka distillery located in the heart of Manhattan, New York City and is part of Our/Vodka — a family of urban micro-distilleries. Our/New York was the first legal distillery to open in Manhattan since Prohibition, and prides itself on creating world-class spirits that celebrate NYC. It is born out of a partnership between Our/Vodka and local New York skate wear entrepreneur Dave Ortiz, founder of local skate and fixed gear companies DQM (Dave’s Quality Meat) and Dave’s Wear House.
