Speyside 30 Year Old 1991 (bottled 2021) - Wilson & Morgan | 700ML

A stunning single malt from The Speyside distillery, matured for 30 years between 1991 and 2021, and independently bottled by Wilson & Morgan. After an initial stay in a refill hogshead, the whisky was treated to a finish in a second-fill oloroso sherry cask, allowing plenty of mellow fruit, zesty citrus, and fragrant, nutty spice to intertwine with the hearty malt at its core.

Nose: Exudes richness from the moment this dram hits the glass, the sherry cask influence is very apparent, no dryness or too much oily notes so the spirit really shines through with soft strawberry, mango, and peach, French patisseries, soft hints of maple, sultanas, and dark red fruits, some nutty and soft leather notes round the aromas off perfectly.

Palate: With a rich creamy toffee and vanilla note that opens to a candied orange and soft citrus, some soft peppery notes add balance to the sweetness before we head into the dark fruits, figs, red currant, damson jam, hints of soft fudge and crisp nutty flavours, soft puffed rice, milk chocolate with a soft chewy toffee.

Finish: The finish is a lingering rich soft mineral tone, with a crispy nutty, spice and vanilla pod.

Since 1992, the independent whisky-bottler Wilson & Morgan has offered a fine selection of rare Scotch malt whiskies to connoisseurs all over the world. Wilson & Morgan selects only the best malts from 10 to 30 years of maturation, sometimes after re-casking for finishing in port, rum or Marsala casks. These malts are bottled at peak maturation and then shipped to countries all over the world, including Japan, France, Germany, Holland, Switzerland, and of course Italy, where today, they can be found in selected outlets, Michelin Star restaurants, wine and gourmet shops.
