      Detailed Description

A refined and well-structured Amarone from one of Valpolicella’s benchmark estates, the 2007 Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella Classico comes from a generally favorable vintage that delivered ripe fruit, good balance, and strong aromatic definition. The growing season provided steady ripening conditions, allowing for the development of concentrated flavors while maintaining freshness and structure. Produced using the traditional appassimento method and aged in oak, this Amarone shows both richness and composure.

      Producer Information

Allegrini is an Italian family business based in the Valpolicella Classico zone of the Veneto. It is widely regarded as one of the leading producers not only in the region but in Italy as a whole, and is particularly known for its Amarone della Valpolicella Classico. The family has been in the region since the 16th Century, and has been involved in winegrowing for much of that time. However, the business as it is known today was founded in the mid-20th Century by Giovanni Allegrini, who began to build the estate's reputation for fine wines in the 1960s and 70s. Today, all of Allegrini's wines are made from estate-grown fruit from 90 hectares (222 acres) of vineyard in the communes of Sant'Ambrogio and Fumane, where the southeast-facing slopes and chalk soils are well-suited to winegrowing.
