Producer Information
Weingut Tement is a wine estate in the Sudsteiermark region of Austria. It is based in Ehrenhausen, very close to the border with Slovenia, and grows vines in both countries. Key grape varieties are Sauvignon Blanc, Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc), Morillon (Chardonnay), Welschriesling and Gelber Muskateller (Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains). Wines range from dry to very sweet Trockenbeerenauslese. The core of production is white wine, though the estate makes "RT" (Red Tement), a blend of Zweigelt and Cabernet Sauvignon. This is aged for six years in small oak casks and is very ageworthy. The same maturation is used for the Zweigelt Selection. The red wine portfolio is augmented by Tement's participation in the T.FX.T joint venture with Szemes and FX. Pichler. Tement also produces a Vermouth, labelled "Alfred".
