Producer Information
The “Podere Giardino” is located on the southern side of the municipality of Montalcino, less than 1 km from the provincial road that connects S.Angelo Scalo with Montalcino, the town of Brunello. “Podere” is the local word for small farms, including their lands. The “Podere” is nowadays a specialized winery. The vineyards are made up by approximately 4 hectares of Sangiovese, 0.25 hectares of Pugnitello, 0.25 of Foglia Tonda and 0.15 of Trebbiano and Colombana, planted at various times since 2003. The vineyards are nowadays almost entirely located in the “Lamoni” area along the Traversa dei Monti provincial road. The small, oldest vineyard is close to the new cellar. From our vineyards we make Brunello di Montalcino D.O.C.G., also in the “Riserva” version in the best years, Rosso di Montalcino D.O.C., the I.G.T. Toscana rosso “Lamoni” from Pugnitello and Foglia Tonda grapes, the white wine S. Antimo Bianco D.O.C. from Trebbiano grapes. From 2023 the Vin Santo will be available, made in particularly favorable vintages from Trebbiano and Colombana grapes.
