Detailed Description

This special small batch mezcal made from wild harvest Papalote (called Cupreata elsewhere) agave is harvested on the steeps slopes of Rios Balsas river basin. The wild areas north east of the Mexican Riviera are home to some of the most authentic and old school mezcal producers in Mexico. The complex and delicate flavors from Papalote are filled with mineral and deep citrus fruit framed by a dried herb and sweet floral back drop. An exceptional mezcal by any measure.

Distillery Information

Bozal Mezcal Cuixe Single Maguey is made from wild cuixe agave, a subspecies of the Karwinskii Family of agave, harvested in the village of San Baltazar, Oaxaca. The distillery uses centuries old methods of distillation: cooking the hearts in earthen pit ovens, crushing them using a tehona wheel, using wild yeast for fermentation, and distilling in copper pot stills.
