Deanston 18 Year Old Bourbon Matured Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky

A 2015 addition to the Deanston range, this expression has been matured for 18 years, including a finishing period in first fill Kentucky bourbon casks. It was bottled without chill filtration at 46.3% ABV. Oodles of rich honey, luxurious vanilla, sugary shortbread and a touch of fresh ginger. You don't get to see much Deanston these days, so more expressions from them are always welcome.

Deanston 18 Year Old Bourbon Matured Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: Enjoyable earthy vanilla up front, paired with Golden Grahams, honeydew melon and flint.

Palate: Lemon cheesecake and orange boiled sweets, shortly followed by stem ginger and beeswax.

Finish: Oily walnut and barley.

Deanston distillery is a Single malt Scotch whisky distillery located on the banks of the River Teith, eight miles from the historic town of Stirling, at the gateway to the dramatic Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park.
