Ergaster Single Malt Whisky - Nature | 500ML

French single malt whisky from the Ergaster distillery, made from organic barley sourced locally in the northerly Hauts-de-France region. Produced in the distillery's flame-heated still, the whisky is initially matured in French oak barrels, before finishing in Cognac and vin jaune casks.

Ergaster Single Malt Whisky - Nature | 500ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Frangipane, heaps of syrupy stewed fruit, an earthen touch of roasted nuts, supported by roasted malt, and a touch of bee's wax.

Palate: Rounded layers of sweet yellow plums and soft stone fruits, with soft peach and butterscotch in tow. Bold barley and flaked almonds follow, with a touch of minerality beneath.

Finish: Candied fruits linger, with a bitter touch of cedar and hearty mixed spice cushioned by toasty oak and nutty malt.

Distillery Information

The distillery Located in the heart of the ‘Pays des Sources et Vallées’ in the Picardie region of Northern France, Ergaster is an artisanal whisky distillery, whose products are also certified as being organic. The distillery’s founder, Hervé Grangeon, boasts over 25 years of professional experience in distillation, gaining the title of ‘Master Artisan Distiller’ in 2016. "Our whisky is distilled exclusively in a copper pot still, manufactured in Bordeaux by Stupfler. This still allows Ergaster distillers to better bring out the flavours of our whisky with a softness, delicacy and a remarkably rich set of aromas."
