Founded in 1824 in Rotterdam, Henkes' distillery prospered and even won a medal at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1867. Henkes was acquired by Lucas Bols in 1986, and is now one of the many brands owned by this spirits company. This jonge jenever is bottled at 35% and is available primarily in the Netherlands.
Henkes Jonge Jenever Gin | 1L Tasting Notes
Nose: A fresh jonge jenever, with very light notes of juniper, coriander, and pine needles. There's a touch of rye bread and brown sugar.
Palate: The mouthfeel is oily, with darker spices, such as cloves and nutmeg, and just a hint of juniper. A touch of aniseed too.
Finish: Balanced and fairly complex.
