      Detailed Description

Vibrant aromas of black cherry, cassis, mocha and tobacco jump out of the glass in this aromatic and lush wine. Bight acidity lifts the notes of juicy black fruit including cassis and sweet spices including cocoa. This is a layered and full-bodied wine with soft, velvety tannins that lead to a long, evolving finish.

                Producer Information

Jamieson Ranch is one of the southernmost wine producers in the Napa Valley. Located in American Canyon, the estate produces a full range of wines from estate vineyards and sourced fruit from properties in the Napa Valley and Sonoma County, California. The property has previously been known as Kirkland Ranch Winery, Valley Gate Vineyards, and Reata Winery. Indeed, wines are still produced under the Reata label. The Jamieson Ranch brand was owned by Bill Leigon, but the vineyards and winery are owned by Ken Laird, one of the largest vineyard landowners in Napa County. The Jamieson Ranch brand (and its siblings) was acquired by the Marin County-based WX (formerly Wine Exchange) portfolio in 2017. The estate spans 121 hectares (300 acres) near San Pablo Bay and has a somewhat similar growing climate to Carneros. The area's cool climate is well suited to the production of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. More than 40 hectares (100 acres) of vineyard land are planted to these varieties as well as Pinot Grigio, Viognier, Merlot, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. One of Jamieson Ranch's top wines is produced with Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from the Stagecoach Vineyard in Atlas Peak. Under the Reata label, the estate produces a range of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines from the Sonoma Coast, Carneros, and Monterey's Santa Lucis Highlands. Jamieson Ranch further produces wines under the labels Light Horse and Whiplash – all of which were acquired by WX.
