Mina Real is an ecologically-responsible producer. Crafting their agave, slowly in a brick kiln using a steaming method that enhances the plants’ bright floral notes using an agave- roasting technique that saves 25,000 pounds of wood per roast. Double distillation in pot stills and barreled in American white oak.

Detailed Description

Mina Real Blanco is made with agave Espadin in Santa Catarina Minas, Oaxaca. The agave used in this mezcal are grown at about 4,800 feet above sea level. Once harvested, the agave are steam roasted in a cantera limestone kiln oven, milled with a shredder, fermented in 1,400 litre pine wood vats using airborne yeast, and double distilled in a small clay-pot still.

Mina Real Blanco Mezcal Tasting Notes

Nose: Vegetal notes, grilled beets, caramelized onions.

Palate: Smoked olives, clay, vibrant fruit, dry, sweet potato, balsamic, roasted coconut, sweet corn, cacao.

Finish: A long sweet smoky finish.

Distillery Information

Asbury Park Distilling Co., which opened on Memorial Day weekend. Asbury Park’s first distillery since Prohibition, it is also the first in the state to be located in a commercial downtown area. It was founded by a group of six owners, including Zack Ohebshalom of Fort Lee, Rob Wile of Rumson, and Andrew Karas of Ridgewood.
