Nose: Grain-forward with biscuit, pastry, caramel and toasted oak.

Palate: Toasted sugar, dark caramel, crème brûlée, plum dessert and nougat.

Finish: Long and warming with lingering caramel, oak spice and refined sweetness.

Distillery Information

Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky stands on a legacy reaching back to the 18th century, with Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. regarded as one of the foundational figures of modern bourbon. His innovations—including heat-cycled aging, patent-pending sour mashing, and his advocacy for the Bottled-in-Bond Act—helped shape the industry’s standards. The Distiller’s Council release is the 14th in the Taylor line and was developed using many of the original methods recreating pre-Prohibition style production. It is bottled in bond (meaning one distillation season, one distillery, aged at least four years, and bottled at 100 proof) and presented in a vintage-style decanter, emphasising its collector status.
