Detailed Description
Detailed Description
The 2004 vintage, while slightly cooler than the legendary 2005, still offers impressive concentration and elegance, with layers of blackcurrant, cedar, and tobacco, along with fine-grained tannins. A wine that is drinking beautifully now but has the potential to age further, showcasing the quality of both the vintage and the estate.
Producer Information
Château Clerc Milon is a wine estate in the Pauillac appellation of the Haut-Médoc region north of Bordeaux city, on the so-called "left bank" of the Gironde estuary. It was rated a fifth growth in the 1855 Classification of the Médoc and Graves. The history of the estate began with the disposal of the larger Lafite estates during the French Revolution, with the Clerc family buying a portion near the hamlet of Milon. In 1970, Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Mouton Rothschild bought the property which has been extended and continuously improved over succeeding decades. The label's two dancers represent a 17th Century work in gold and precious stones displayed at the Museum of Wine in Art at Château Mouton Rothschild.
