The 2019 vintage offers up savoury marmite aromas complemented by a lovely nose of rich violet-infused fruit together with fresh, toasty notes. Ripe, spiced, black fruits on the palate, supple and medium-bodied, with hints of cinnamon and a refreshing bitter cranberry twist, concluding on a long, rich sweet finish.

Château Séraphine was named as one of only five Bordeaux Properties in Wine Advocate's 'Top 100 wine discoveries of 2020'. The Seraphine winery knows that great wine is made in the vineyard and that the team working in the vines plays just as critical a role as that of the winemaker. So, we are careful to conduct our harvest according not only to our experience but also to the precision of our analysis and the ripeness of the fruit, which means that we may pass through an individual parcel two or even three times over several days in the pursuit of excellence. When harvested, our grapes are delivered to the winery in whole bunches and in small baskets for careful assessment on a first sorting table before de-stemming. The fruit is then checked again on a second berry-sorting table, before being passed gently by gravity into our bespoke steel tanks, barrels and amphoras before long ageing in 300L French oak barrels.
