      Detailed Description

On the nose, delicate notes of honeysuckle and lime flower emerge, reflecting a precise and mineral-driven character. The palate, currently displaying more expressiveness, exudes a vibrant tension. A well-balanced touch of bitter lemon on the finish adds a tantalizing edge to the overall experience.

        Producer Information

Domaine Bachelet-Monnot was established by Marc and Alexandre Bachelet in 2005 and is situated in Dezize-lès-Maranges, a commune of Maranges at the southern end of the Côte de Beaune subregion of Burgundy. The wider estate covers around 20 hectares (50 acres) of estate-owned and contracted Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vines in climats including grand cru vineyards in Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet and Bâtard-Montrachet. Additional holdings include premier cru plots in Saint-Aubin, Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet and Maranges itself (in particular, 50 percent of the Clos de la Boutière vineyard). The Bachelet brothers are descended from a long-line of Burgundian winemakers, and together they cultivate a combination of family-owned and leased vineyards covering a total of 20 appellations and producing 8300 cases of wine per year.No herbicides are used in the farming of the vineyards and yields are kept purposefully low through debudding. Grapes are harvested by hand and, in general, the wines age in 25 percent new oak barrels for approximately 12 months before racking and aging on their lees for six to eight months in bottle.
